"Applications of Dialogical Self Theory in Counselling & Psychotherapy"

Develop New Perspectives in Therapy and Counselling Practice!

Join us for an exciting and transformative Summer School exploring the groundbreaking Dialogical Self Theory (DST), introduced by the psychologist Prof. H. Hermans, and its powerful applications in counselling and psychotherapy.

This immersive program is designed for mental health postgraduate students & professionals looking to enhance their therapeutic approach with a deeper understanding of the dialogical nature of the self and the dynamics of intrapersonal & interpersonal dialogues. The program may also be useful to individuals who want to utilize DST for research.

What you will learn:

Understanding the Dialogical Self Theory: Learn how DST offers constructivist, narrative and most-modern lenses for viewing the self as a dynamic multiplicity of internal voiced positions engaged in dialogues.

Applications in Therapy: Discover how to integrate DST into therapeutic practice to help clients explore their internal and external dialogues and construct new meanings in therapeutic contexts which facilitate change and healing.

Therapeutic Techniques and Tools: Gain practical skills in using techniques based on DST to help your clients foster their self-awareness, gain new perspectives, and improve their functioning.

Practice in DST Techniques: Focus on case examples and participate in personal growth exercises, like CompositionWork and Internal Multi-Actor Performance, to strengthen your application of DST in different therapeutic settings.

Personal & Professional Development: Engage in interactive workshops and inspiring discussions based on the integrative function of Dialogical Self Theory among the different therapeutic traditions.

Enhancing Client Relationships: Develop strategies to create a more collaborative and compassionate therapeutic environment by understanding how the self develops through relationships.
